About chosen doctor

Vladimir Krajinović graduated from School of Medicine, University of Zagreb in 2001. After the completion of internship, he got a job in the Hospital for Infectious Diseases “Dr. Fran Mihaljević” in Zagreb and began with his residency. Two years later he started his specialization in infectious diseases (ID), and in 2008. he passed his certification exam.

Ever since then he has been working as an ID specialist in the Department for intensive care medicine and neuroinfectology in the Hospital for Infectious Diseases. He obtained his PhD in 2004. at Zagreb School of Medicine with the thesis “Assessment of sepsis severity in patients with infective endocarditis”. Since April 2016. he has been a teaching associate as a post doctoral fellow at the Infectology Department within the Hospital for Infectious Disease, and since December 2020. he has been an assistant professor. He took part in teaching infectious diseases in graduate courses in Croatian and English and in Doctoral and post graduate specialized studies „Biomedicine and health care” (Medical school in Zagreb) – Antimicrobial therapy in ICU, “Clinical pharmacy” (Pharmaceutical school in Zagreb), “Clinical infectious diseases” and “Emergency medicine” (Medical school in Zagreb). He passed the subspecialty exam in 2017. and thereby became a subspecialist of Intensive care medicine. Since May 2020. he has had a title of scientific associate. Throughout his career he obtained additional training through the series of domestic and international congresses, seminars, courses and workshops to which he was often invited as a lecturer. He is the author of 26 publications, 16 of which were quoted in Current Contest base. He has been editor-in-chief of the Croatian Journal of Infection (indexed in Scopus) since January 2020.

Since February 2020. he has been taking part in treating patients with severe cases of COVID-19 infection using modern methods of intensive caretreatment in the Department for intensive care medicine and neuroinfectology.
