I have extensive clinical experience, particularly in the field of general gynecology, preventive gynecology, contraception and gynecologic oncology. I am a member of numerous national and international medical associations, such as the Expert Group on Abortion of the European Society of Contraception and Reproductive Health (ESC) and FIAPAC. I served as the organizer and president of the First International Symposium on “Avoiding Unwanted Pregnancies”, held in Zagreb, Croatia, EU in 2015 and funded by the ESC.
I have attended, and actively participated in numerous international medical conferences. I have authored and coauthored numerous scientific and popular articles (cited in Current Contents and other Databases), and books chapters. I also author a web column that addresses a wide scope of gynecological and obstetrical conditions; this contribution was elected by the professional services as one of the most popular in 2012 in Croatia, EU, and remains among the most widely read today.
Education
I became a Subspecialist in gynecological oncology in March 2019, and since Nov. 2006. I have been a Gyn/Ob specialist. In April 2017 I was granted the title of Primarius.
I obtained my Ph.D. in May 2011 (Dissertation: “The clinical significance of the sentinel lymph node detection in early vulvar cancer”), and in May 2002 I obtained my M.Sc. (Dissertation: “The late results of the surgical reconstruction of the ambiguous genitalia”), both at the University of Zagreb. I have been a Doctor of medicine since Nov. 1994, after completing my education at the School of Medicine at the University of Zagreb.
I have attended numerous CME studies organized by The University of Zagreb and the Croatian Medical Association since 2002 (e.g. Colposcopy in 2007, Ultrasound in 2003, etc.).
Work experience
I have obtained my working experience working as a Gyn/Ob in the Primary Health Care Center Zagreb-Centar for many years, in Clinical Hospital Merkur, and private Clinic Drinkovic in Zagreb.
I worked in "Petrova" during my specialization in Gynecology and Obstetrics, and during further specialization in Gynecological Oncology in Clinic for tumors in Zagreb.
My first workplace as a young M.D. was in the Emergency Unit, where I spent 4 years.
